The sheet music they're looking at is for "The Vamp" which was published in 1919. It was indeed written by Byron Gay, so that's probably him. It was a novelty foxtrot.

Pease Pianos were made from 1844 until about 1950. They were founded in Cooperstown, NY but moved to NYC in the 1870s. According to this site: antiquepianoshop.com/online-museum/pease/
