    The registration can just be read on the side of the fuselage Go.G.IV 22/17 (Ssw) It is a Gotha G.IV which was built in license by the Siemens Schuckert Werke (S.S.W.). This machine is one from a series of 40 machines license built by S.S.W. with serials 200/17 till 239/17.

Friedrichshafen, G.III

    As the picture shows a Friedrichshafen G type with a single fin, this is a Friedrichshafen G.III. The later developments G.IIIa and G.IV and G.V all had a "double tail" section, that is two rudders and two elevators in a box like construction. This is a classic view of a brand new looking Friedrichshafen G.III arriving in the field, with lots of interested personnel who want to inspect this technical marvel.
