German Cruiser, the first to be named after a city, and all subsequent cruisers were. 1915 Operated in Baltic. 17 December 1915 Sunk by mines.

The cruiser was build 1903 at Bremen shipyard A.G Weser Since 1904 it was operated in Wilhelmshaven Between 1904 and 1912 the main Region it was used was North- and Southamercia as a Stationcruiser for the Colonies.

A German Battle Cruiser. Her visit caused a stir with fears that the Germans might be able to attack the US, but in fact she had to burn some of her wooden furniture just to make the one way trip.
