At the intersection of George and Barrack Streets and Martin Place. I had no idea David Jones was ever there.

The vehicle in the foreground is armoured car C-318, named "Starfish." One of six LP-3 Armoured Cars ("LP" for "Local Pattern") produced in total (C-314 Crow, C-315 Curlew, C-316 Cockatoo, C-317 Stingray, C-318 Starfish and C-319 Snake) (source) by Ordnance Factory Maribyrnong. Perhaps all six are captured in this photo?

I think it was Wednesday, 7th May 1941. The cast iron awning was erected in 1905. It was replaced be a cantilevered awning in 1917. Therefore this pic was taken 1905 - 1917
