Liggett (correct spelling) as has been noted elsewhere in comments to other incorrectly named "Leggett" photos.

Fans of the Bain photostream last saw General Liggett pictured here in photos from July, 1913, when he presided over the 50th-anniversary encampment of veterans of the Battle of Gettysburg -- an event attended by President Woodrow Wilson and Vice President Thomas Marshall, among others:

I had the dubious pleasure of serving one of my 2 week active duty stints in the National Guard at Hunter Liggett Military Reservation. That was in the late 60's. The post is located not far from central California's King City. It is now officially called U.S. Army Garrison Fort Hunter Liggett. It gets plenty hot there.

One might observe that neither the heat nor the location of Fort Hunter Liggett can be considered to be the fault of General Liggett.
