    There are references to this photo as being of Victor Hugo on his deathbed, but none say whether it is pre or post mortem. Certainly the year (1885) is right for this.

    Very famous photo...of a very FAMOUS photog... His most famous of many famous subjects...was a young Sarah Bernhardt...leading to her fame.... he and she are still together...buried not too far apart... in Per'e La'chaise cemetery in Paris France.
