typos: Littlle s/b Little Boars s/b Boar's

The Breaknolle mansion at 40 Ocean Boulevard in North Hampton (Little Boar's Head), NH, was built in 1874. It was purchased by George M. Studebaker (1865-1939), an executive with the Studebaker Corporation, in 1909.

In 1916, Mrs. George (Ada) Studebaker (1866-1954), along with seven other women, founded the "Rye Beach/Little Boar’s Head Garden Club". Their mission statement encourages growth horticulturally and agriculturally; improvement of the neighborhood; and says "members should have plenty of frivolity and elasticity."  96 years later, the Rye Beach/Little Boar’s Head Garden Club today has 75 members. The Studebaker family owned the property until 1936 when they sold it to John Higgins, owner of the Worcester Pressed Steel Company. The Costello family, owners of the Lowell Sun (Massachusetts) newspaper, acquired the property in 1962. [3]

While the garden today is no comparison to what it was in the 1920's, there is a tradition of beautiful gardens along Ocean Boulevard, including the breathtaking Fuller Gardens – a turn of the century public botanical garden that was once part of the summer estate of Alvan T. Fuller.  It's right on the ocean, not a five-minute walk from The Breaknolle.

Black n white photographs last forever, some coloured ones fade, and if we leave photos only on computer or discs, we could lose em 4ever, must keep special photos on paper.!!
