Possibly on the same trip as www.flickr.com/photos/library_of_congress/2969699814/ He would have been Edward VIII, but abdicated to marry Mrs. Simpson, and lived most of his life as the Duke of Windsor.

Very well spotted swang. His Royal Highness is wearing the same checked cap in both photographs, and you will also note Count Zeppelin appears in both photographs wearing a white peaked cap. The Royal Aero Club of the United Kingdom published a journal called Flight. (They may still do so.) In the April 5, 1913 issue of Flight on page 394 there appears this tidbit: "The Prince of Wales in Germany. During the visit of the Prince of Wales to Stuttgart last Saturday, it was anticipated that the Zeppelin Z4 would visit the city during her duration trial, but the Royal visitor had to be disappointed. The Prince went on to Friedrichschafen on Sunday and on the following day, under the guidance of Count Zeppelin, made an inspection of the works. It had been hoped that the Prince would have been able to enjoy a trip in the Z4, but this idea had to be abandoned on account of the squally weather." [ ref. www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/view/1913/1913 - 0388.html ] Therefore, this photograph was taken on Monday March 31, 1913 outside the Zeppelin works at Friedrichschafen. Additionally, Here is the Zeppelin Museum Friedrichschafen: www.zeppelin-museum.de/ And here is a photograph of Count Zeppelin in his favoured white cap: www.zf.com/corporate/en/company/tradition/company_history... But who is hoding the umbrella and standing in the car beside the Prince of Wales? Turns out that he was Professor Hermann Georg FIEDLER. He was Professor of German at Oxford University and accompanied the Prince on his trip to Germany in 1913. See a photograph of them together on that trip here (at plate no. 43): books.google.com.au/books?id=MCxyoqsvYmYC&pg=PR27&... "The Prince of Wales inthe Easter and summer vacations of 1913 when an Oxford freshman. Hermann Fiedler, who had been Professor of German since 1907, accompanied the Prince on both occasions." I don't recognize this car, but can say whoever tagged it as "Model T" is certainly wrong. Ford Model Ts are quite recognizable if you've seen a number of them, and were smaller cheap utilitarian vehicles -- not the sort of thing used for a visiting Prince.
