    this is possibly his son, as the 4th Earl died in Dec 1914, aged 75, and his son Major Henry William Crichton, Viscount Crichton died in the war in October 1914, and his son succeeded the grandfather as the 5th Earl, aged 7.

    Since he is wearing his coronation robes this must be the 4th Earl and dates to May 1910 or January 1901. Probably the former as he wears the uniform of a Privy Councillor and he was made that in 1902. Strangely it seems as though someone has drawn on the star of the Order of St Patrick.
