Captured German aeroplanes on display, Whitehall, London

This stereo picture shows a captured German Fokker M.8 (factory identification) identified by the German army as the Fokker A.I. (roman numeral). It was captured by British forces and exposited during November 1915 in the Horse Guard Parade (London) together with other captured German aeroplanes. The Fokker M.8 (A.I) was an unarmed two-seater, where the pilot sat in front and the passenger/observer was at the back close to the pilot. These Fokkers were used in the beginning of the war for reconnaissance or liaison. Quickly they were relocated as trainers. This design had windows in the fuselage at the side to have a better vision below. This stereo picture was also sold by Underwood & Underwood as No. 12287 - Captured German aeroplanes on display, Whitehall, London
