In the down side of the pic we can read a tag "Fco. Villa y Estado Mayor" they was named "Los Dorados de Villa" (Villa's Golden Warriors)

i have a print of this exact negative that has been cropped, however on the print that i have, Villa's crotch does not have a water stain on it. How can we request the LOC restore this and make a new one available?

Francisco "Pancho" Villa (June 5, 1877 – July 23, 1923), famed Mexican revolutionary and guerrilla leader.

A cropped version of this image is used on the cover of A & E's Biography DVD, Pancho Villa: Outlaw Hero.

Notice that he signed this like a promotional picture. Not surprising, since he was quite media-savvy for his day, having starred as himself in a movie which helped propel him into legend.

This photo matches nr 2203-10, may 9th, 1911. You can see Col. Villa wearing the same clothes with the crossed "cananas" on the chest. Behind the group is the same house. Roberto Duarte MD Plastic Surgeon.

Dr. Roberto Duarte: Thank you for linking this photo to the other Bain photo of General Villa which was taken at the same time. We will add this information to the record when we update.
