    It's interesting that approx 100 years later this report appeared in"de paper" about Miltown Malbay; Mr Paddy O'Donghaile, principal tax inspector, said it certainly did dawn on him when he was investigating in Miltown Malbay that it was happening elsewhere. ``It is happening all over the place. You can be lucky in an inquiry and in this one we were.'' The taxmen swooped on the Bank of Ireland in the town before Christmas, 1991 and approached individual traders which resulted in disclosures and the ultimate recovery of about £2m in unpaid tax, including tax on deposit accounts where DIRT was not operated.

    This Mary made a grreat booboo last evening when uploading some shots to the NLI stream and failed to make them private so as to release one each day:-( The problem was that we had a number of "Tram" shots together and needed to break up the flow with other interests. Sincere apologies to all those who like a daily chase.

    Ryan, Victualler, #92 is now Michael Byrne and Son, Butcher. Ryan's shop was still there in 1971, according to Thom's!
