The inscription on this is wrong somewhere. Gladys Deacon was Duchess of Marlborough. Her sister Dorothy was Princess Radziwill.

Dorothy Parker Deacon (1892-1960), a Boston girl, became Princess Radziwill when she married Prince Albert Radziwill (1885-1936) in 1910. The marriage was annulled in 1921. Her father was Edward Parker Deacon (d. 1901); her sister was Gladys Deacon (1881-1977), Duchess of Marlborough.

The newspaper printed this photo with the caption: "Miss Gladys Deacon has been called the prettiest American girl in Europe. She has received more offers of marriage than any other American girl, but for some reason she is unmarried still. She has been courted by princes, counts, millionaires, and also by the Crown Prince of Germany. It is said that the Kaiser presented her with a valuable diamond and emerald necklace because she agreed not to encourage the Crown Prince. Her latest suitor was Lieutenant Oliphant, of the British Navy, and in fact her engagement to him was publicly announced, but the marriage has been put off frequently. "Sickness" was the last excuse.
