This is a date printed on the back of the print (11/5/14). 11 is the day/5 is the month/ and 14 for 1914. This is the european form of writing writing dates.

The handwritting of the scratched date is quite alike than other George Bain photos. If the scrateched date is mirror turned, it is likely 11/7/14. And if it was scratched by Bain it would say November 7, 1914. Dr. Roberto Duarte Plastic Surgeon
