From the National Portrait Gallery (UK) where they have 22 portraits of her: "Roshanara (Olive Craddock) (1894-1926), Dancer The daughter of an English mother and Anglo-Indian father of Irish extraction, Craddock learned to dance as a child in India. She came to Europe in about 1909 and adopted the stage name Roshanara after a legendary Indian princess. She danced with Loie Fuller's company and in 1911 appeared in London in Oscar Asche's Kismet and took the role of Zobeide in Scheherazade with the Ballets Russes at Covent Garden. She joined Anna Pavlova's company in 1912 and eventually settled in America, where she died from appendicitis aged thirty-four." www.npg.org.uk/collections/search/person/mp55949/roshanar...

The newspapers wrote that her father was an English army officer in India. E.g. „... Roshanara, who is the daughter of an English army officer and all Anglo-saxon, despite her Indian name and her dusky beauty ...“ (The Sunday Oregonian. man named Coetzee was, on the 24th of June last, tried at Dordrecht by a Military Court, composed of a Lieutenant-Colonel of the Royal Irish Regiment and a Colonial Major and Lieutenant, on a charge of murder and high treason; that the evidence disclosed that a Boer picket had been surprised by Colonel Scobell's column on the 6th of June, and that two men, of whom the prisoner was one, were found with rifles and ammunition in a neighbouring donga, from which the witness thought shots were being fired; and that on this evidence against Coetzee, and the evidence of another witness, he was certain the prisoners were the sons of a British subject, Coetzee was convicted and executed; and whether, in view of the feeling among our Dutch fellow-subjects caused by military executions of this kind, he will direct that captured Boer soldiers who are alleged to be British subjects shall be reserved for trial by the ordinary courts.

Lord Stanley's answer was basically "No".

they have misspelled his name, it is Craddock. Likely posted as part of the shocking news of his death and the British navy's first defeat in over 100 years at the Battle of Coronel www.christopherlong.co.uk/pub/coronelfalklands.html en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Coronel

Wikipedia also spells his name with only one "d" -- but of course Wikipeddia often is wrong. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Cradock In 1913, Craddock was appointed to command of the British Navy's North America and West Indies station. That likely is the reason his photo was circulated by the Bain News Service, since the photo appears in Bain's 1913 photostream. The Battle of Coronel, in which Craddock died, did not occur until 1914.
