This is an XC-99. This photo does no justice to how big this beast is. The last survivor is being restored at the National Museum of the Air Force in Dayton, OH. www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/photos/media_search.asp?q=xc-99...

Yes, Nate. You are correct that it is the XC-99. But this was the prototype with no others being built. It was allowed to sit in the elements for years outside Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio. Read more about it here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convair_XC-99

Sorry, Wingman. I knew that. Should have said this is "THE" XC-99. I think its great that they are gonna put this side by side w/ the B-36 that it was based on. That is gonna be an amount of airplane that is measured in acreage.
