Republic XF-84E-15-RE (YF-96A) Thunderstreak 49-2430 under test as a parasite fighter (FICON = "Fighter Conveyor") with GRB-36F-1-CF Peacemaker 49-2707 (later re-re-designated as JRB-36F). Pilots were Maj Clyde Good and Lt Col Clarence E. "Bud" Anderson (WWII ace in "Old Crow" Mustangs). The Thunderstreak is now at the NMUSAF in the R&D section.

He could actually climb in & out of the cockpit while it was retracted into the bomb bay, so the idea was to climb in just before launch (which could be completed in about 1.5 minutes). Convair B-36B-1-CF Peacemaker 44-92033, the 8th of 73 B-36B models made, and one of the 59 that were later upgraded to B-36D standard. After service with the 92nd BW(H) @ Fairchild AFB, Washington, she was sent to MASDC (later AMARG) on 19 November 1956; scrapped at Davis-Monthan AFB in March 1957.
