XT-29, s/n 49-1911 (MSN 179). Converted to VT-29A. Assigned All Weather Section, Flight Test Division, Wright Air Development Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Used to evaluate the aircraft for all-weather flying capabilities 29 August 1951 to 12 March 1952. Last served with 162nd TFS, 178th TFG, Springfield Municipal Airport, OH. To MASDC as TB039 Sep 6, 1974. Declared excess 16 September 1975. To Dross Metals Inc 7 April 1977 for scrapping.

Didn't notice it until now. The date cannot be correct. Official data has c/n (MSN) as being built 3 March 1950 and delivered to USAF 25 April 1950. Possibly someone reversed that date and we thus have 1 July 1950 instead which would fit since the aircraft was in service No 2750 ABW at that date. From the buzz code it also looks like the aircraft was designated T-29 or even T-29A when the photo was taken. Stig
