See the third comment box below for expert info on this photo.> Convair F-102 Delta Dagger. I haven't found hits for FC-117. RE: The tail number 61054, searching joebaugher.com shows: 56-1045/1136 Convair F-102A-60-CO Delta Dagger 1046,1048,1054,1055,1057,1061 converted to PQM-102A; "target drone conversion of 65 modified surplus F-102A fighter." www.designation-systems.net/dusrm/m-102.html Similar-looking tail marking seen on F-102 Delta Daggers (at Perrin AFB, Texas 1941-1971) here: commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:4782d_Combat_Crew_Trainin... and (mis-named Dart) usgenwebsites.org/TXGrayson/HomeTownHeroes/Military/Perri... The patch on the flight suits that is the nearest match comes back to... the 194th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, California ANG This is a Korean War version of the patch; it is the only Delta Dagger squadron patch that is close to what's seen in the SDASM photo www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/korean-air-national-guard-.../s>

Thanks to William at jivebombers.com for a quick reply to by request for his expertise. Here is his (verbatim) reply: Thank you for visiting my website! Here are some answers to your questions: The men are wearing the patch of the 4781st Combat Crew Training Squadron and were therefore based at Perrin AFB, Tx. Both F-102s were assigned to that base and belonged to the 4780th Air Defense Wing which was under the 73rd Air Division whose emblem is seen on the tail. The 4780th was part of the 73rd Air Division from 1962-66. This timeline is validated by the photo: the F-102 in the background (56-1054) lacks the “0” prefix in its tail number which would have been added in 1966 when the aircraft became ten years old. So, early to mid-60s photo. William Stein
