    A nice stereoscopoic photograph. Both images the same but one is slightly out of phase with the other so when viewed through a stereoscope they give the illusion of depth (3-D). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stereoscopy

    I've come back to this wonderful picture, that is truely evocative of ancient Rome. It's seems so idyllic and unspoilt by modern developments. More so, this was taken in an age before the motor-car! It saddens me to look at this picture and think the Colosseum later became a giant roundabout threatened by all that motor traffic to crumble into rubble. Thankfully, some years ago the area immediately around the structure has been pedestrianised and the constant traffic diverted away. Stuart.
