There is something very real about this photo, I could almost imagine being there, hopefully not to dust the light fittings though.

The Chullora Aircraft Factory photo is at the NSW government railways site and the items are the rear portion of engine nacelles. The aircraft I think they are for is a Beaufighter. An example was a Fairey -built 1C A19-2 with Australian installation of Wright Cyclone GR2600-A5Bs in long nacelles that extended beyond the wing trailing edge these nacelles also housed the retractable undercarriage. All of this was meant for proposed production variants Beaufighter V111 and 1X . Witch came to nothing due to the end of hostilities. Aircraft Factory Chullora photo. Showing four nacelles, two of which were used on Beaufighter A19-2, as this Aircraft was used for a trial installation of Wright Cyclone engines, being carried out in Australia. A photo of A19-2 with these nacelles appears in Bristol Aircraft Since 1910 bY C H Barnes. This photo is said to be 1943 But the accompanying text suggests 1944 or later. This tidies up the timeline a bit. Care of my father Colin Russell Source Profile Publications No. 137 The Bristol Beaufighter I & II Page 16 (top of)
