    Not a hotel room -- this was a gym where boxers trained. A November 24, 1913, photo of boxer Charles Morris shows another chamber in this suite, with the identical wallpaper: @undeadsinatra: In the 19th century, a cult of the Apache was active in the French underworld, especially in Paris. They took their name from the Apache Indians of North America, and were famous for their costumes, wearing flashy shirts with horizontal stripes. Here is an explanation on Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_(gang) Ledoux probably got his nickname because he was French (and a fierce fighter).
