Not a hotel room -- this was a gym where boxers trained. A November 24, 1913, photo of boxer Charles Morris shows another chamber in this suite, with the identical wallpaper: @undeadsinatra: In the 19th century, a cult of the Apache was active in the French underworld, especially in Paris. They took their name from the Apache Indians of North America, and were famous for their costumes, wearing flashy shirts with horizontal stripes. I think this is the same photo in the New York Tribune, 9-18-21, with the caption:
