chandler

Perhaps this is [Chandler]. There were not any players named "Chanler" for either Cornell or Brown. Theodore Chandler, Class of 1915, played Full Back (Number 22) for Brown University football, in this game against Cornell University, October 24, 1914, at the Polo Grounds (Brush Stadium) in New York. Cornell stomped defeated Brown 28 - 7. — [1] [2]

Pixel Wrangler: It does seem possible that this is Chandler. We'll include this information next time we update the description.

Alvin Knechtel (1901-1929) was a Hollywood cinematographer, and helped sponsor Art Goebel's and navigator Lt. William Davis's (USN) winning entry in the 1927 Dole Air Race, "Woolaroc" (registration: NX-869) See: www.kingairmagazine.com/article/walter-beech-dole-race-ha... "Fortunately for Art, four of his best friends agreed to provide the $5,000 down payment he desperately needed in hope of securing a Travel Air. Of these four friends, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Knechtel resided in Hollywood where Mr. Knechtel worked as a movie camera man. The other couple, Mr. and Mrs. Cal Chandler, lived in the up-and-coming posh neighborhood of Beverly Hills where Mr. Chandler operated real estate and publishing businesses." Knechtel would tragically perish two years later along with stuntman and pilot William Hauber, as their aircraft crashed while aerial scouting for locations for the movie "The Aviator" (1929).

Scanlan and Verling there in 1911 Census

I'd have loved to live in that time!

There's only one of those four shop/houses extant.

Marco Buccelli With no telly, no internet, no dishwasher, no front loading washing machine and no penicillin? I think not.

According to the 25", there should be trees all down the right hand side of the street, with the first one in front of Verling's: maps.osi.ie/publicviewer/#V1,716879,732961,7,9. They're not on the 6" though: maps.osi.ie/publicviewer/#V1,716879,732961,7,7
