Harry Huking, Regnar T. Freng, and J.H. Woodward are pictured at Oakland Airport in 1936, examining an antenna array being tested by United Air Lines (UAL) and Bendix Radio Corporation on a Boeing 247, as part of an experimental instrument landing system that was initially developed by the National Bureau of Standards (NBS).
