cartoonist

Eugene Zimmerman, cartoonist: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugene_Zimmerman

I'm wondering if this really is the cartoonist, who is pictured at animationresources.org/?p=3843 Another Eugene Zimmerman died in December 1914, a railroad tycoon. www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=21962006 NYT of December 21, 1914 reports on his sudden death query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=FB0B14F83F5C13738...

The citizen., January 28, 1913, Page 8 chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn87078082/1913-01-28/ed-... shows what looks like the same guy and it clearly is the railroad magnate whose daughter married the Duke of Manchester and not the cartoonist who is the subject of the piece. And the New-York tribune., February 05, 1907, Page 14 chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn83030214/1907-02-05/ed-... shows this guy with his daughter (the Duchess of Manchester) and grandchildren.

@ swanq Good research, I didn't look any further that the wikipedia article. That will need updating too.

We'll get help to delete the photo in Wikipedia, which is still displaying Dec. 10, 2011. A classic case of 'same name, different person.' Thanks for the clear visual confirmations, Swanq! -- Helena (LOC)

Did you know that during Charles Schulz's lifetime, the Peanuts comic strip only ran in reprints once? It occurred when Schulz took a vacation to celebrate his 75th birthday.
