Alex Arcasa and Stansil Powell were students at Carlisle Indian School where, along with Jim Thorpe, they played on the football team coached by "Pop" Warner which defeated West Point in 1912. Stan Powell was also Thorpe's teammate on the 1923 Oorang Indians NFL team.

The United States Army War College now occupies the site of the former school."
