Spencer House, Digbeth Garage, Birmingham, the building being the offices of Midland 'Red' Motors.

    Midland Red Digbeth garage was opened on 3 January 1929. I would suggest that this excellent photograph was taken soon afterwards. Are you able to tell us the date? The name "Spencer House" did not apply until the Digbeth frontage was reconstructed in 1958. It was named in honour of Sir John Spencer Wills (1904-1991) who was chairman of the board of directors of the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited (Midland Red) from 1946.
