This is Alf Najar who won the race. His parents were from Tripoli in Lebanon there is more information on their site alhs.org.au/?p=233

Fabulous pic of the "old" pit straight & pit facilities at Mt Panorama! Detail at the new 6K zoom setting is excellent too. Bathurst then is a far cry from the facilities & safety barriers built since...but probably was more exciting for obvious reasons.. ;O)
