whats on the lower left corner?

TJ Shutter speeds would be in seconds rather than fractions of a second so any movement will lead to ghosting but I'm sure you would have know that. The Google streetview is fascinating. Wrong part of the country for me to have any meaningful input.

Gerry Ward I see the ballustrade in your photo so it must have been dismantled for painting or galvanising when the Google car went up the street.

What a beautiful photograph... the flowers in the background match the young ladies dresses - great composition and color!!!! Love it.

I love how, even though this was taken over 60 years ago, those buildings look almost identical today.

There's such a European look to the architecture and landscaping, I had to do a double-take to be sure it said this was D.C. The people in it are intriguing, too; I wonder whether they were models or actual servicemen and their dates? I like how the polka-dotted woman's right arm is motion-blurred, and how neatly the stripe-skirted lady's feet are pressed together.

In this Bing bird's eye view, you can see that the long building with a skylight at right is the dead zoo.

Dating detail: swan necked lamp-post at left means after 1901 and tram electrification. No actual light on the lamp-post may mean it is during electrification works.

(Unlike many other streets, the swan necked lamp posts are still there in streetview).
