Joseph Conrad visited Melbourne Australia during the early stage of world war 2 I think it was about 1940-1941. I came down from the country for a short visit and I remember see the rigging protruding above the roofs on the Melbourne docks building from the train.

This is so good! The Sydney Morning Herald photographer was in that biplane on Wednesday 18 December 1935 - SMH 19/12/1935 p.14 - trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/17231756 . The biplane belonged to Mr H. C. Durant. Somewhere nearby is the Motor Liner 'Malaita'. What a great photo of sail, steam, and air travel together
