Bow view of United States Navy warship at anchor possibly during the 1925 goodwill tour

Just a wild stab here, but this is almost certainly a battleship, maybe something like the West Virginia. Definitely toward the later end of the date range. In fact, a little research shows that the USS Maryland made a goodwill voyage out your way in 1925.

Seth Gaines Thank you for your comments Seth! Yes we believe this is more likely to be from the 1925 visit. While the epic 1908 tour saw 23 US Navy vessels enter the ports of Sydney, Melbourne and Albany, the 1925 tour saw a record breaking total of 56 - the largest single foreign naval fleet ever received in Australia! Sydney did receive USS MARYLAND. Thanks again for following and tune in for more images to come!

This is one of the US battleships visited Sydney in 1925 (unfortunately I can't say yet what ship exactly).
