The bear on wheels is lovely, possibly a Steiff, although I'm not sure a new Steiff would have been available in America in 1917. I have not been able to track down a similar wooden frame in pictures of Steiff bears on the web. www.rareandsigned.com/?page=shop/flypage&product_id=1... has a picture of a replica of the 1921 Steiff bear. Possibly taken on Fishers Island, at eastern end of Long Island Sound. According to fishersisland.net/hlf-museum-files-g-b-linderman-mansion/ Zimbalist and Gluck rented the G.B.Linderman house in 1917 for the summer and bought the house in February 1918.
