This was the 18th built F-111A (not F-111B which was a US Navy project). I suspect it has been converted here to the first FB-111A (YFB-111A) It seems the general idea is that this aircraft was more or less modified straight away into the YFB-111A, but I don't have any dates. Is this photo dated? Stig

XT-29, s/n 49-1910 (MSN 169) converted to CT-29A. Last served with 170th TFS, 183rd TFG, Capital Airport, Springfield, IL. To MASDC 26 June 1975. Declared excess 16 September 1975. To civil registry 11 March 1977 as N39407 with Hamilton Aviation Co., then CP-1330 with Frigorificos Reyes. WFU and stored 1979.

If the date is correct, the aircraft has not yet made its first flight, which happened 22 Sep 1949! It was listed as a T-29A as built 10 March 1950 and delivered to USAF on 24 April 1950 The conversion to CT-29A took place 10 July 1959. According to Air Britain the registration N39407 was NTU and aircraft delivered straight to Frigorificos on 11 March 1977. This is supported by MASDC documents which also states the same thing. Perhaps Hamilton was only a go-between? It seems the aircraft was w/o around 1979 Check this site aerospotter.blogspot.com/2008/11/convairs-bolivianos.html Stig

Thank you Film&PhotoArchivist and Richard Norton. We will add more information about Mount Clemens Flying Field and its role in training military personnel during World War I when we update the description.
