In this Thomas Westropp photograph taken from the pillar and dated 18th May 1916, the remaining ruins of the Hibernian bank above have been demolished.
So taken between Mon 24th April and 18th May 1916.

Carmody's Established 1804 on the right with its wonderful iron balcony seems to have gone - boo hoo! Terrific photo - I keep thinking that my grandparents, who were born around 1890 and lived locally, would have known Ennis looking just like this.
