John Gerard Longer de Saulles (b. 1879 – August 3, 1917) was a prominent American athlete, real estate broker and businessman who was murdered by his millionaire wife, leading to a widely-reported trial. Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_L._DeSaulles

@R A Norton: You give the date 1913 for this photo of deSaulles on your Wikipedia page, but that can't be right, as it portrays him in his student athlete days at Yale, which would make him around 20 -- which would date the photo as about 1899.
  • swanq said:
@Wystan. I agree that 1913 seems wrong for the date of this picture. The Washington Times of November 24, 1901 has him as the Yale quarterback in the Harvard-Yale game of the day before. chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn87062245/1901-11-24/ed-... and chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn83045211/1917-08-04/ed-... shows him as much older in a photo published in the Philadelphia Evening Public Ledger right after his murder.

Thanks for all your comments and information about de Saulles and the possible date of this image. We will add some of it to the description of the image.
