  The boat is the Ovoca built in 1908 in Arklow, later fishing out of Balbriggan.

  Scenery looks pretty rugged - further West than Arklow, I'd say. I note a coastguard station with flagstaff.

  Taken at Castletownbere I'd say - This part of the harbour is now filled in, but that's the Workhouse in the background and the profile of the hill matches the modern Streetview www.google.ie/maps/@51.6508038,-9.9102059,3a,75y,80.01h,8...

  The Coastguard station in the photo wasn't there when the 25" Ordnance Survey map was created, so that may provide some dating evidence. The NIAH suggest it was built circa 1910, so this photo must be later. www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&...

  St Mary's church is in the NIAH but doesn't help much, as it was built 1862-65.

  There was an archaeological impact assessment which has a comparison between this photo and an earlier one taken in 1891. This photo was assumed to be c. 1900.
