We still hold "Court Day" in my hometown of Mt. Sterling, KY every October. It began as an event similar to this photo. In our small county "court day" or the day that they held local court was also a time for folks from the country to gather around the Court House square to trade and sell hunting dogs, food, guns, and other supplies. Today it is a large flea market and fair held once a year, but up until the 1980s, it still held this flavor of a countrified flea market and trade/swap.

Or it could be a lynching party.

I have an ongoing project (brand new, of course), started in an effort to help restore the color to these images, but also try to maintain the integrity and charm of the original. Here is the adjusted photo: www.flickr.com/photos/alec_fredericks/2200692261/ And the set: www.flickr.com/photos/alec_fredericks/sets/72157603732346...

No way to see the images you mention, unfortunately. It says: "The photo you were looking for has been deleted. You might like to ask ACFred about it!" I've been looking at these images over a few days and have had the strange sensation that I'm being a voyeur: I've never felt that before.
