We still hold "Court Day" in my hometown of Mt. Sterling, KY every October. It began as an event similar to this photo. In our small county "court day" or the day that they held local court was also a time for folks from the country to gather around the Court House square to trade and sell hunting dogs, food, guns, and other supplies. Today it is a large flea market and fair held once a year, but up until the 1980s, it still held this flavor of a countrified flea market and trade/swap.

This was my Grandfathers Store. I have some advertisements, old bottles and other stuff from here. My Brother has the cash register (still working). didn't know this existed. Awesome.

Georgia Pine I was cleaning things out and just came across a token for Tyler's Store in Campton, KY. It is good for 5 in merchandise. Now don't know if that is 5 cents or 5 dollars. I'd be glad to send it to you since you were related. Betty Reese bmcsfr@yahoo.com
