  I visited Lisdoonvarna a couple of years ago. Isn't that where they have the matchmaking festivals? As we walked down the street, there were various groups of women and men on their own. I know a group of women were making eyes at my hubby! LOL

  Info about Bombardier Billy Wells in comments on this photo. Jim Coffey (1891-1959) was known as "The Roscommon Giant" during his heavyweight career, which lasted from 1911 to 1921. Born in Ireland, he lived in New York City. A February 27, 1913, article in the New York Times (here) on the occasion of Coffey's win over boxer Jim McFarland mentions in passing that Coffey had been training with Bombardier Wells. Jim Coffey's bout list at Box Rec.
