    This NavSource Military History page has a photo (19-N-13573) of the Michigan at the Fleet Review in New York, October, 1912, which appears to be the event for the Bain photo of Alabama (on Flickr). So I would guess this photo was taken in New York Harbor, October 1912 as well.

USS MICHIGAN (LOC)

    This Is not the USS Michigan, the Michigan sister ship to the South Carolina had all turrets on the Center line, one above the other. These 2 ships are the first to have this arrangement. The ship in this picture appears to be a Delaware Class Battleship with three turrets arranged towards the stern. the glass negative says Michigan but its not. Look Picture of South Carolina and you will see the difference.
