    It is clear that this is a photograph of two seperate prints tacked to a board, this does not look like the normal (is there a normal?) Eblana process.

    Steamer on our left is the Ulster, one of four Mail steamers which began service in 1896. The one on the right looks similar, so is presumably the Leinster, Munster or Connaught.

    The obelisk is easy to read here - catalogue.nli.ie/Record/vtls000328003 . It commemorates a visit by George IV in 1821. Photo also shows two of the earlier paddle steamer RMS. so pre 1897 (?) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_of_Dublin_Steam_Packet_Company
