The narrow part of the bridge nearest the camera was a lifting section to allow sailing ships past. You can see some cogs in the mechanism at the bottom of the narrow section. This has since been replaced with a wider but uglier flat concrete span visible here:

Things in 1922 were unchanged since the the GeoHive OS 25" (which has an incorrect survery date of 1888 attached, but is actually after 1905.) The Bank is still there, the Woollen Mills burned down in the 1940s and a Radisson Blu is there now, the Methodist Church is still there but the steeple is gone, and the Post Office is gone too, replaced by a rather ugly Bank building.

In this archive shot, it looks as if the rear window of that Vauxhall wraps around to the side, rather than having a little quarter light window. It looks more like the window of the car next to the Velox in this wiki image.

The 1912 OS 25" GeoHive map (with a broken survey date!) marks a Celtic Cross in market square. The nli archive has photos of it, but it isn't in this one.

It is still in town, moved a short distance away, as seen in here in Streetview. Here is a hi-res pic, and the inscription can be read:

On the side of the base is the sculptor's name, R. O'CONNOR

The important bit: the date, AD 1906

So, we have 1906 as a latest date, and 1897 as an earliest (the hall).
