For a start ..........21st October 1805 was a good day for some.

Noblett's sweet shop was around in 1916 - it was occupied by the rebels.

According to this discussion forum Thom's directory has Nobletts there from 1922 through to 1956 and Laird's from 1922 through to 1941 (but not 1956) - presume these records aren't exhaustive though and they may have both been there earlier than that.

David Hayes, Merchant: 58 in 1901. It's hard to gauge his age from this picture though.

William Eager - 46, Thomas Mannix - 58, John Quinlan - 24. They're all shopkeepery sort of ages. I'd say this is quite close to the turn of the century. Quinlan can't have been in business much before this (Unless he inherited the business from another J, I suppose - his mother's still on the premises as head of family).

Just to th eright of the lady crossing the street is an unusually wide horse drawn cart. Any idea if it was a special piece of equipment?
