An educated guess - it is March 1913. There is a 'similar item' not too far away with heaps of newspaper billboards - catalogue.nli.ie/Record/vtls000557501 - which talk of the "Balkan War" and a whole lot of local news which may narrow down the date to a particular day. First Balkan War started in October 1912 and lasted to May 1913 - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balkan_Wars#First_Balkan_War . And Easter Sunday (see note about 'Easter Cards') was March 23rd in 1913. Or not ? ... ...

Noblett's sweet shop was around in 1916 - it was occupied by the rebels.

According to this discussion forum Thom's directory has Nobletts there from 1922 through to 1956 and Laird's from 1922 through to 1941 (but not 1956) - presume these records aren't exhaustive though and they may have both been there earlier than that.

When did Lipton's add "By Appointment"? . Before 1896, anyhow. This page has an 1896 ad with By Appontment, but also an 1893 ad without it.

Here's a large 1892 ad.. I think this would mention the royal appointment if it had happened.

So, 1896, maybe?
