HMS Hood was sunk, following a direct magazine hit, while in pursuit of the Bismarck and Prinz Eugen off Scapa Flow on 24 May 1941. See: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Hood_(51) The accompanying ships, on the Sydney visit, HMS Repulse and HMS Prince of Wales, were attacked and sunk by Japanese dive bombers off Malaya 10th December 1941. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinking_of_Prince_of_Wales_and_Repulse

This is HMS Hood! Note the single 5.5" secondary armament among many other differences - Renown has triple 4" guns.
