    Notice how the flag has 48 stars. Well, that would make sense given that this photo was taken 20 years before Alaska and Hawaii were admitted to the Union.

    It's amazing to think they were still denied the basic rights promised them in the 13th Amendment they still loved this country enough to have this parade.

    I really appreciate a former era when adults dressed like adults, rather than overgrown children. No one is wearing message T shirts, shorts, flip flops, ball caps, or any of that nonsense. Though they may be poor, they have dressed for the occasion and don't look like children, they have dressed as adults.

    This is a good picture, I like the layout of the photo. The lighting or lack there of makes it more subtle.

    Notice all of the photos of this event are candids shot from a distance, as if the photographer did not want to intrude. A gesture of respect from a probable white photographer? Or was he just keeping his distance?
