There do seem to be three branches to the Belgian aristocratic family: de Crombrugghe de Picquendaele, de Crombrugghe de Schipsdaele, de Crombrugghe de Looringhe

This may be little Georges, Georges de Crombrugghe de Looringhe, born 1909 gw1.geneanet.org/gounou?lang=en&pz=auguste&nz=dum... If so, his mother is the former Madeleine de Kerchove de Denterghem d'Exaerde 1882-1966 NYT of September 19, 1915 select.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=F50816FA385B1773... reports that she and her husband had become separated in Belgium some months before. Having discovered where the other was, they missed each other crossing the Atlantic!!

I (and my parents and sister) sailed from that very same dock, on the Holland-America Line's MAASDAM, in August, 1956. After a nine-day voyage, we landed in ROTTERDAM, The Netherlands.
