I think this is Manly Cove, not Manly Beach. This appears to be the harbour side of Manly - not the surf side.Think the title should be amended!

Can still remember swimming here as a kid, was one of the best pools around, pity Manly Council didnt replace it after Cyclone Tracy, was great to walk along the walkway and watch swimmers, and the speed boat rides

I remember the boardwalk from when I was around 5 to 8 years old in the sixties. The slippery dip and jumps must have been taken down by then but I can remember swimming to the pontoon and being happy I was able to make it ( and back to the beach ). It was a big swim for me then. I remember reading in the Manly Daily how the boardwalk and Manly Wharf were virtually completely destroyed by rough seas overnight.
