    US Navy ships in Trepassey Bay, Newfoundland there to support the Curtiss NC flying boats' transatlantic attempt. They are from front to back, (still in wartime dazzle camouflage) the tanker USS Hisko (ID-1953), USS Upshur (DD-144) (adjacent to Hisko), USS Aroostook (ID-1256), and USS Prairie (AD-5). Railroad bridge over the Umpqua River at Reedsport, Oregon

    This is the Umpqua River Bridge, a swing bridge built in 1914 by the Southern Pacific and currently the Coos Bay Line of the Central Oregon & Pacific Railroad. Here's an aerial map. According to Wikipedia, this section of track has been out of use for a couple of years because of necessary tunnel repairs. Today:

    I think it's the first time for me too, as Lange is always represented by the Migrant Mother photo in the textbooks. This is incredible street photography with a difference. -- Seen in your FSA/OWI Favorites set. (?)
