The Royal Hanneford Circus is an American-based touring family circus. With origins dating back to 1690, it has been called the oldest circus in the world.[1] The family first performed as a traveling troupe in 1807. In 1903, the family began its own circus as the "Hanneford Royal Canadian Circus" and in their early seasons toured the British Isles and Continental Europe en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Hanneford_Circus

Douglas Sloane III (June 3, 1890 - December 21, 1972) Sloane founded the Cathedral of the Pines in Rindge, New Hampshire in the memory of his son, Sanderson "Sandy" Sloane, who was Killed in Action during WWII. Sandy Sloane's B-17G (USAAF Ser. No. 42-97520), named "Peg-O-My-Heart," disintegrated in mid-air and crashed near Schlebusch, Germany, after being shot down during a mission to Wernigorde, on February 22, 1944.
